21 Day Fix Round 2.

Good Morning.
Had to weigh in this morning and take measurements before I start round 2 of the 21 Day Fix.  Down a few more pounds for a total of 25!

I finally got my Shakeology shipment yesterday so I can get back to having them as part of my 6 meals a day.

Getting quite excited to go round 2.

The past two days I haven't worked out, but I have been active and watching my food intake.   Back to hard core tomorrow.

More than just a number

Happy Friday.

So, I wanted to take time in today's blog to talk about the positive changes I've noticed these past 3 weeks.   None of this has anything to do with the scale either.

First, my frustrating news.   I took all my measurements back on July 12 and entered them into my beachbody account. This time I was tracking EVERYTHING.    Well, yesterday morning I discovered none of it saved.   I was devastated.  I had a vague recollection of what the numbers should have been and did a remeasure and went from there.
Is it perfect? No.   Is it going to be correct? No.   Will it give me a gauge? possibly.   We won't know for sure until Tuesday when I measure again.

That being said, I don't need any numbers to tell me how I'm doing.   I can see it.   How long until others do? Who knows? Who cares?  I know what I see and feel.    Hubby can tell, he's made several positive comments.

I see it in my face.  While it's still chubby, it's narrower than it was.   I see it in my middle.  Where I was once blubbery and ...fat... I can see there is MUCH less than it was.  I see it in the mirror without clothes. This morning I found another facet that impressed me.    I see it in my clothing, how it fits.   I feel it when I move.  Not counting the bum knee, everything else feels good.   I have an achy back that needs a massage, but I have less pain than before.      I have more range of movement and flexibility than I did 4 weeks ago.

Walking, again not counting the knee, I don't have the pain in the back that I was getting.
Now, once we have this knee looked at...and hopefully nothing more than a shot will help..I may be able to do much more.

I noticed it in my workouts this week. When I started 3 weeks ago, I barely used weights in the workouts. Then I upped it to my lower weights.   I kept at that on and off until it was mostly on.
This week I moved up to the next set of weights I have. Been using them.

Additionally, 2 of the 3 days I've worked out this week have been double workouts.  Well, the second day it was 20 of 30 minutes, but I still sweated and pushed it.

So, all this tells me is that no matter what the scale says, I'm making some big progress.  Yes, I'd like the scale to really go down, but I like that I can SEE results.   I can see results before I feel the clothes on me getting looser.

I have always known that once I could find my focus I would be successful, it was just getting started.

September 28

Progress.

Easily lost the water weight that I gained and a few more to just be sure.
Whew!
Just very glad that the scale kept the downward trend.

I had ample opportunity to be bad this week, including yesterday in which I attended two of my favorite little people's third birthday.   I stuck to my guns and when it came time for lunch, I just walked next door to my house to have my own, diet approved lunch.

The grand scheme of things, the official weight loss is at 104lbs.  Meaning I've lost an additional 4 pesky pounds.
The tracking weight loss is at 99 pesky pounds.

I knew I was losing before stepping on the scale. I've become very in tuned to my body and can see the subtle signs when I'm not doing well. It's really weird & cool.  I notice it mostly in the middle.  Whatever I see, as long as I can reign myself in, it's all good.

I'm really anxious to finally get off PSMF, reefed, and return to how I was eating before-watching calories only.   There are lots of low calorie, low fat items I enjoyed and would love to enjoy again. Namely the Strawberry Cheesecake Greek Non Fat yogurt for breakfast.

Rich & I have a little vacation coming up and I'm not too worried.  One, Rich will keep me on track and two, I won't allow myself to slide .   I'm getting excited about that. We haven't done something like this in awhile and I'm really looking forward to some time away from the pups. A week + before we go.

Also later in the month, I'm heading back to Tenn.   I'm flying this time so we do not need to worry about me slacking. With my walking track & my parents to make sure I behave, shouldn't be an issue.

Tomorrow is the Biggest Loser Ceremony at work. Too bad we couldn't do last minute weigh ins. IN the span of a week I went from losing only 12 pounds to losing 18.

Thanks for sticking by me and supporting me through the tough times.   I can't promise that I will not have any more slip ups, but I can promise I'll try my hardest to avoid them if I can.

The Protein Sparing Modified Fast: Day 1 & 2.

I. AM. Hungry!
Well now that I'm on the diet I can definitely see the differences between Atkins and PSMF.
On PSMF you count your protein intake - Not carbs. Additionally, this diet is much stricter than Atkins ever was.
To give you a clue, this is my intake yesterday. "Totals" is what I actually ate.  "Daily goal" is what I had been aiming for prior to going on this diet. See photo below.
You eat lean meats, two servings of veggies, and that's pretty much it. I'm allowed a ½ C of sugar free Jell-O a day (which is the highlight of my day).  I am also allowed unlimited quantities of lettuce and celery.   That sounds great right?  NO dip.  Unless I can fit it into the flavor enhancer, but that requires no fat and only 3 carbs or less.   Fun stuff (NOT)!
I made it through day one with 726 Calories.   I wasn't too bad yesterday.  It was Monday, so I went to bed early and that helped cut down the craving ;)
Today is getting a little tougher.   Part of me is wondering how much of the hunger I'm feeling is true hunger (as in I need to eat) versus the I normally know I eat more than this, give me something to munch on.  I'm drinking tons of water, as it's required AND I'm thirsty and to help curb the hunger.
I'm looking at the rest of the day. I only have room for 4.5 more ounces of meat.  I'm topped out on my veggies since I snacked on a big bowl of broccoli.   So I'm going to have to go with something I can put in a salad, since lettuce is an unlimited thing.
I hope ketosis kicks in quickly.  I need to have this "curbed" appetite soon.  I'm SOOOO HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
